The ministry of information technology and telecommunications is a federal level ministry of government that deals with the latest technologies and researches.
The ministry is responsible for planning and initiating new projects related to IT for the development of the country as well as for economic growth.
MoIT supports graduates, students and researchers to develop new ideas that plays effective role for the enhancement of technology national and international level. The following departments are working under the ministry of information technology and telecommunications.
- Pakistan telecommunication authority (PTA):
PTA is a regulator and in charge of development and operational plans of telecommunications sector.
- National IT Board:
National IT board was launched in 2013 by combining two different departments e.g Pakistan computer board and electronic directorate of government. National IT provide licenses for new IT projects in Pakistan.
- Pakistan Software Export Board:
As all of us know that Pakistan is among top countries related to software development. A large number of software developers/ software engineers graduate every year. Pakistan Software Export Board is government board that promotes Pakistan IT industry at domestic and international level.
- Special Communication organization:
It is a special unit under the ministry of information technology and telecommunications that is responsible for the development and operational plans of IT in Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
- Virtual university of Pakistan:
It was the first university established by the government for the enhancement of the IT sector in Pakistan.
- Telecom Foundation:
Telecom foundation is responsible for the welfare of employees and workers of the IT sector.
- Universal service fund:
It was established by the government to spread the telecom sector and its benefits throughout Pakistan . It has independent board of directors from government and private sector. The role is to supervise the next generation technology.
Selection procedure consists of Application process (complete online application form), Test and Interview. Selected candidates will go through training.
